Tasting Notes |
Robert Karlsson | Quite strong, dry, a little restrained. On fresh malt and pure slight vanilla, tiny hints of white smoke. With time it gets darker in style, leathery kind. Tastewise considerably more exciting, with whiffs of smoke initially, then nice round vanilla and then the aftertaste gets smoky again. Quite enjoyable indeed. |
Ho-cheng Yao | Yellow, dried fruit, Christmas cake, pepper, sea, light peat. Medium light body, medium finish. unique, somewhat not so easy dramming. |
Rich Howard | uh oh... sweet and smoky, right in my wheelhouse. let's go deeper and see what we've got here. i'm getting simultaneous notes of wood smoke, sweet vanilla and fresh berries, then almonds, and just a hint of citrus. after a few minutes, more berries, chocolate, and then some glove leather and tobacco join in. the palate is sweet and smoky, with chocolate, tobacco and berries, black pepper, and a little sea salt dancing on the tongue. very nice! water enhances the wood, tobacco and vegetal notes on the nose, but sweetens the palate with cream sherry and vanilla. stronger but perhaps just a tad better without water, although water is definitely worth the journey as well.
