Tasting Notes
Robert KarlssonA rather dark maltiness dominates, a buttery vanilla arrives with time. Feels a little closed. Very hugely dominant on vanilla in the taste however. This could well be a grain or something that has been in a very fresh ex-bourbon cask. Simple, dominant, flawless.
Rich Howardthe nose is quite woody, with a handful a dry leaves and some bitter notes in the background (vinegar?). quite some apple juice, plenty of vanilla, oat cakes and more than a hint of vinegar on the palate. the finish is very dry and quite sour. water simply enhances the whole apple vinegar thing. too dry, too sour. [tasted blind for the 2010 Awards]
