Tasting Notes
Robert KarlssonEarthy smokiness. Really peaty. Dry. Harsh... hints of dry vanilla appears with time. Quite austere. Some raspberries? Opens up with water. Grows, towards the dark side. Ominous! Tasty smokiness. With a really berried twist that wasn't completely expected. Licorice. Dark smoker. Yummy.
Rich Howardan immediate hit of bonfire smoke, burning leaves, maple barbecued pork ribs, hemp rope, hints of sea air, with a sweet undercurrent of toasted marshmallow and lightly salted caramel creme. the palate is deep and earthy, with tar, chili powder, hemp rope, maple glaze, a subtle sweet cream sweetness. a drop of water lightens the nose just a hair, releasing some gauzy, medicinal notes that weren't as noticeable earlier, hints of grilled halibut, still some barbecue sauce, and whiffs of molasses cookies lightly sprinkled with sugar. the palate is also quite a bit lighter, more cream and sweet cream now, a handful or cooking herbs, many of the deeper notes are largely gone. summary: a very earthy and smoky dram, with maple barbecue and hemp rope, and undercurrent of sweet cream. definitely do not add water.
