| Rich Howard | the nose offers red apples and apple skins, freshly mown grass, plenty herbal with an undercurrent of vanilla and malty powdered sugar. after a few minutes, i'm getting some vague metallic notes as well (hardware nails). the palate is fairly robust, and follows suit with plenty of apple skin, hay, vanilla and quite herbal on the finish. with a drop of water, the nose has lightened mostly to herbal notes, maybe a splash of fresh lemon now, with plenty of malt and vanilla. the reduced palate is a bit sweeter, also accenting the malt and powdered sugar, as expected. summary: a grassy and herbal dram with a splash of vanilla.
