| Rich Howard | the nose starts with semi-sweet fruits (white grapes, pineapple wedges), then moves quickly to unscented candle wax, a dash of olive oil, then moves on to fresh mint leaves, soot and strong vegetal notes on the tail, freshly sliced root vegetables and even some corn husk, with just a hint of marshmallow candy lingering throughout. after a few minutes, a waft of vanilla starts to emerge. the palate is brisk, with gentle citrus and pineapple turning quickly to spicy olive oil, fennel and ending on toasted oak, which is more in evidence on the palate than the nose. water opens up gentle orange citrus on the nose, infused with vanilla, but accents the candle wax as well, even some fresh linen now, plenty of red apple skins, still some fresh leaves and fresh oak. the palate is still on tangy citrus, olive oil and spiced wood. this is one to let sit and open up for quite some time. |
