Tasting Notes
Keith WoodNose: Pears and peat with a little rubber. - Palate: Smooth fruit, mainly peaches and apricots, with just a little peat. - Overall impression: I was so looking forward to tasting this one which has often been described as the greatest Ardbeg ever and possibly one of the greatest whiskies of all time. Well, I wasn't disappointed, it is a truly great dram. Age has mellowed the peat and has developed a smooth fruity delight with mainly peaches and apricots. But the greatest Ardbeg ever? I still prefer the "Very Old, Aged 30 years" over this one, but it is a close call and this is a true great
