| Tasting Notes | |
| Craig Daniels | Nose: leather and sweet cream, coca cola syrup, dettol (antiseptic), and a hint of molasses along with ferns and moss. Palate; Much more obviously peaty with coal tar and anthracite; sweet peat and some demarara sugar. Finish: creamy then ashes, tar and coal smoke. Comment: more intense than the 10yo but with more spiky peaks. Retasted 2012. |
| Oliver Klimek | Nose: Intense and smoky, sea breeze with spray, a surprising hint of green apple - Palate: Peat punch, but not as sweet as the 10yo, very spicy, even a bit herbal - Finish: Very long and smoky - Overall: This is a powerful dram. An uncompromising young Laphroaig enhanced with strong wood notes. A little water seems to make it even stronger. |
