Tasting Notes
Johannes van den HeuvelNose: Oddly farmy. A little chalky with a hint of sweaty socks. Subtle hints of smoke after a minute - and cough syrup too. String beans. After a minute or three some mint and candy overtones. Palate: OY!!! Now I understand why Serge and Olivier scored this one so low. It starts of rather nasty and bitter. A beery bitterness. After a few seconds the peat starts to take over - and then the heavy tannins attract most of the attention. Score: 79 points. Very difficult to score, this one. (Mind you, this score was for a 5cl sample from Davin. Other maniacs may have scored a big bottle...)
